If you haven’t heard, another set of twins will join our family! A&E have been promoted to “The Bigs” and we are all excited to welcome “The Littles” in a few months! Until then, we will try to take the summer slow and enjoy our time together as a family of four.
We have made some big changes in preparation for the littles: most significantly, moving to a new house and buying a larger van. It was sad to say goodbye to the apartment building we lived in for four years (almost all our marriage and where we welcomed A&E home), but we are very thankful for the new home we are quickly making our own. It has been a lot of transition for A&E and they have handled it well.
A&E are growing fast, climbing on top of everything, dancing all over the place, popping lots of teeth, learning all sorts of new things, and babbling up a storm. They are so strong and sweet! Some of our favorite activities these days include dining, playgrounds, nature walks, play groups, and swimming!
Jonathan’s Semester & Art Shows
The spring semester tends to be a little more chill, teaching-wise, but it’s busy with extra events and responsibilities. SALT trips were successful and it was a lot of fun to take the 10th grade class up to Kanchanaburi. The teacher’s role in AP Art shifts from direct instruction to more advising and coaching. It is so much fun to see their portfolios come together and take ownership of the creative process. With two sections of 3D Design, the prep and planning load was a little lighter, but the classroom got very busy. Middle school and elementary worked with ceramics too, which meant there was a lot of clay work moving through the classroom and kiln!
One of the highlights every spring is the Faculty Art Show, where my art teacher team gets to share their work with the community. The show was a lot of fun and I was able to unveil my new painting, “Flaming Wok on a Hot Night,” which was inspired by street food chefs in Bangkok’s Chinatown.
Lyndsey’s Engagements
Outside of Lyndsey curating and sharing nutrition education on Instagram, she has been consulting women who are pregnant, newly postpartum, and even a few moms hoping to become pregnant. Another fun way she has been able to share her expertise is by advising ICS High School students on nutrition-related Senior Capstone Projects aimed at serving Thai communities. Of course we have to mention how proud she is of her LifeGroup girls! We journeyed all 4 years together and grew so close. They have just graduated and are headed around the world for more studies! We hope to get together again around Christmas.
Thank you for your continued support through prayer and financial support. Please continue, as we continue our work here in Thailand!
